The weekly broadband briefing

A short Thursday email for people who’d rather spend five minutes reading than four hours on hold with retention. Verified deals, new guides, and price-hike alerts on the biggest US internet, TV, and wireless providers — nothing else.

What you’ll get

  • New guides, distilled

When we publish or rewrite a major guide, fiber vs. cable, the real cost of DIRECTV, how to cancel Xfinity without the retention circus, you get the TL;DR plus the link.

  • Deals we actually verified

We call every promo on the checkout flow. If a deal doesn't survive the form, it doesn't survive the newsletter. Expect 1–3 real ones per week, not a wall of expired links.

  • Price-hike alerts

Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, DIRECTV, DISH, YouTube TV, Hulu + Live, Netflix. When one raises prices, you hear about it the same week, with a one-line take on whether to switch.

  • Switching windows

Promo prices only last 12–24 months. We'll nudge you when yours is about to expire so you can renegotiate or jump providers before the bill doubles.

What readers say

I saved $42/month on my Xfinity bill because of one line in this newsletter. Paid for itself ten times over and it's literally free.

Finally someone writing about broadband who isn't trying to sell me a Ringba phone number. Short, skimmable, useful.

Caught the AT&T Fiber price hike two weeks before my bill. Renegotiated my plan on the phone in 15 minutes.

The anti-promise

What we won’t do

Most newsletters in this space are email-address farms for affiliate offers. Here’s what you can count on us never doing.

  • Sell, rent, or share your email with any provider, affiliate, or ad network.

  • Run a 10-email onboarding sequence. You get the Thursday briefing and that's it.

  • Pad the list with every half-baked promo, if it doesn't clear checkout, it doesn't ship.

  • Hide the unsubscribe link. It's at the bottom of every email and it works in one click.

  • One honest Thursday email. That’s the whole deal.

Frequently asked questions

Still on the fence? These are the things people ask before signing up.

How often will I hear from you?
Once a week, Thursday morning US Eastern. That's it. We occasionally send a one-off alert when a major provider announces a mid-cycle price hike or pulls a plan, roughly 3–4 times a year, not 3–4 times a week.
What's actually in the email?
Usually four sections: (1) the deal of the week with real 24-month math, (2) one or two new guide summaries, (3) any price changes or plan retirements across the big US providers, and (4) a short reader question we answered. The whole thing is built to be skimmable in under two minutes.
Can I unsubscribe?
Yes. One click at the bottom of any email, no confirmation page, no 'are you sure' guilt trip. You can also just reply 'unsubscribe' and we'll handle it manually within a business day.
Do you sell or share my email?
No. Not with providers, not with ad networks, not with 'partners'. Your email sits with our newsletter provider (currently evaluating between Beehiiv, ConvertKit, and a self-hosted option) and is used only to send you this newsletter. See our privacy policy for the full data picture.
Do I need to confirm my email after signing up?
No double-opt-in hoops. Once you submit the form you're on the list. Your first briefing lands within 1–2 business days, so if you don't see it by then, check your spam folder and mark us as 'not spam' so future issues land in your inbox.
Is this different from your RSS feed?
Yes. The RSS feed fires every time we publish something; the newsletter is a curated digest with commentary and deal verification that doesn't exist on the site. Readers tell us the newsletter is where the actual money-saving lives.
