AT&T cuts Fiber 2 Gig by $5, now $110/mo flat
By Jordan Reyes ·
AT&T trimmed $5 off its Fiber 2 Gig tier this week, bringing the flat rate to $110/mo from $115. The change shows up in AT&T's order flow as of Monday morning; existing customers on the older price aren't grandfathered down, you'll need to call retention or re-sign through a new ZIP lookup to see the new rate.
The cut lines up with Verizon's similarly quiet $10 cut on Fios 2 Gig last week. The two fiber giants now sell symmetrical 2 Gbps tiers at identical monthly pricing, though Fios's 2-year price guarantee and included Wi-Fi 6E router still narrowly beat AT&T on totals over 24 months.
For households in both footprints, this is a wash. For the roughly 30% of AT&T Fiber addresses overlapping with Xfinity's Gigabit Extra 2.0, the new price makes AT&T meaningfully cheaper than cable's equivalent tier, which still carries a $15/mo gateway fee and a 1.25 TB data cap.
